Ross Island Tour

Cost: $39.00 Adult
$25.00 Ages 10-15 w/Adult


Length: Half Day - 3 Hours

ALL PADDLING GEAR PROVIDED NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Location: The Ross Island Tours meet at our Boat House location.

Go paddling in your backyard! You can even ride your bike to our new location to make it a no driving recreational day! We will leave from the Boat House dock along the Eastside Esplanade near SE Water and Clay and explore the backwaters of the Willamette River between Ross Island and Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge.

The Ross Island Tour is offered several times a week March through October. Call to book your Ross Island Tour today.

Outline: Ross Island Tour

  • Journey the 3 nautical miles around Ross Island...if conditions permit
  • Introduction to basic equipment
  • Launching and landing
  • Forward and reverse paddling
  • Sweep strokes

On the water, You Will Need:

- Tennis shoes or river sandals with wool socks or wetsuit booties
- Sunglasses with retention device (i.e. Croakies, Chums, etc)
- Sunscreen (SPF 30), lip balm (SPF 15)
- Sun hat, rain hat, and/or fleece hat
- Synthetic top and bottom (thermal underwear, heavier wt. for cooler weather)
- Rain coat and rain pants
- Nylon shorts and/or swimsuit
- Water bottle (1 quart)
- Towel and change of clothes for ride home
- Lunch and snacks

Optional Gear:
- Camera with film, batteries and dry storage

Meeting Place/Directions:
The Ross Island Tours meet at our Boat House location. You will receive detailed instructions and a map with your confirmation packet.

Please remember to keep your personal gear to a minimum, but keep your comfort in mind. Remember the goal is to travel light and efficiently.
