: Whitewater Kayak River Refresher

ALL PADDLING GEAR PROVIDED
Previous experience required, Full Immersion 1 & Full Immersion 2 or equivalent is a prerequisite.

This class is offered at our Portland and Bend locations.

Any paddler looking to build on their existing foundation will benefit from a day putting their newfound skills under the microscope. Spend the day on a class 2 River exploring the river, we will help you execute flawless ferries, peel outs and eddy turns. We will also spend some time 'bombproofing' your combat roll. If it's been a while since you've been in your boat this is a great class to brush up your boat handling skills.

Outline:  River Refresher

• Start refining beginning skills by developing efficiency of strokes and using the features of the river
• Practice rolling in current
• Practice surfing skills
• Practice stern squirts

In the pool, You Will Need:

- Retention device for your glasses(i.e. Croakies, Chums, etc)
- Synthetic top (thermal underwear)
- Rain coat and rain pants
- Nylon shorts and/or swimsuit
- Towel and change of clothes for ride home

Optional Gear:
- Nose plugs
- Swim goggles

On the water, You Will Need:

- Tennis shoes or river sandals with wool socks or wetsuit booties
- Sunglasses with retention device (i.e. Croakies, Chums, etc)
- Sunscreen (SPF 30), lip balm (SPF 15)
- Sun hat, rain hat, and/or fleece hat
- Synthetic top and bottom (thermal underwear, heavier wt. for cooler weather)
- Rain coat and rain pants
- Nylon shorts and/or swimsuit
- Water bottle (1 quart)
- Towel and change of clothes for ride home
- Lunch and snacks

Optional Gear:
- Camera with film, batteries and dry storage

Meeting Place/Directions:
The River Refresher is held in the vicinity of our Portland and Bend stores. You will receive detailed instructions and a map with your confirmation packet.
