REFINEMENT LEVEL: BCU 2 Star Award or instructor's approval required
This class is offered at our Portland location.
This full day class, held in sheltered water, will introduce you to a wide range of deep-water rescue techniques for solo and group paddlers. Fundamentally this course is designed for paddlers and coaches irrespective of their chosen craft. The objective is to teach simple and safe skills that can be applied appropriately. We aim to provide the participant with the key safety and rescue skills required to operate safely and to be able to deal with common emergencies. The Foundation Rescue & Safety Training will be scheduled a couple of times during the summer and fall.
These skills will then form the basis of all safety and rescue training throughout the BCU Scheme.
