Description:
This coastal / surfing stand-up clinic is appropriate for anyone that has completed our Basic Skills Stand-up class or equilivant.
Head out to the Oregon Coast with our knowledgable staff and try SUP surfing!
This full day class will cover topics such as:
Reading surf breaks
Selecting a beach and break to surf
Reading the waves
Operating safely in the surf zone
Measuring drift and holding position
Positioning yourself to catch waves
Catching waves
Surfing and beyond!
Equipment:
Provided as need - board, paddle, pfd, helmet, wetsuit/drysuit, booties.
Meeting place:
We will spend the day at the Oregon Coast learning to paddle Stand-up safely in the surf zone.
Meeting Place/Directions: The Coastal SUP Clinic will meet at Pelican Pub Parking Lot, Pacific City. Please arrive 15 minutes early to fill out paper work. 33180 Cape Kiwanda Drive, Pacific City, OR From Portland: Take Sunset Highway OR-26 West, take the exit left for OR-6 ( NW Wilson River Hwy) to Tillamook. In Tillamook head south on Hwy 101 ( Pacific Coast Highway) to Sandlake Rd. towards Pacific City. Take a left at stopsign (this is the continuation of Sandlake road and goes all the way into Pacific City. You will receive detailed instructions and a map with your confirmation packet.
