Alder Creek Begins New & Improved Version of Edging & Bracing
The best rescue is the one that never had to happen! Having a roll is great, but not capsizing in the first place is even better. Alder Creek has expanded and improved one of it's most popular classes. Every paddler on the water should take this class. Whitewater boaters, sea kayakers and canoeists are all encouraged to sign up. Edging and Bracing is a great next step beyond the basics skills class. It is also a critical building block on the way to a solid roll.
Boaters of ALL skill levels will enjoy this class. Start with wet-exits and gaining comfort underwater and learn basic edging and pro-active bracing techniques or get straight to deep bracing in reactive scenarios to prepare for rolling. Students will learn skills in a placid indoor pool, then apply them to the dynamic and enjoyable indoor wave pool right on site! Learn, practice, and apply each element immediately with feedback and pointers from some of the best coaches in the business.
The NEW Edging and Bracing Class is longer and will allow plenty of time to practice your new skills. We encourage the use of boats that are under 10 feet long and can provide whitewater kayaks if needed. The cost of the this new class is only $65 and can include gear if needed. Please call us to sign up. Edging & Bracing will be held once a month at the heated indoor wave pool at North Clackamas Aquatic Park!
